The CITTRU Technology Transfer Centre and Innocel Sp. z o.o. – Special Purpose Vehicle of the Jagiellonian University announce the Call for Submissions by CTT and SC staff as part of the Science4Business (EFSE) project. The aim of the proposed activities is to increase the technological and/or business readiness of innovations and the efficient commercialisation of R&D results.
Who is for?
- Funding may be requested by a member of the CTT CITTRU staff (Innovation Broker) or a member of the Innocel SPV staff;
- Submissions may only concern Innovations submitted and registered with TTC CITTRU (Results Submission Form), and the property rights to them must belong at least in part to the JU;
- The required level of readiness for implementation for Innovations is at least TRL 2;
- The Innovation must relate to a thematic area covered by National Smart Specialisations (KIS) 1-12;
- Preference is given to eco-innovations implementing the 6R principles or work carried out in accordance with the 6R principles.
What will we finance?
- Pre-implementation work to increase TRL (technology readiness level) and/or BRL (business readiness level), including: infrastructure rental, research and consulting services, expert opinions and valuations, market analyses and legal services, necessary software and materials, salaries, civil law contracts and business trips (to be agreed with TTC/SPV staff). Please note the rules of the Science4Business Project, which do not allow: outsourcing services to other institutional Partners of the Project or to the staff of those Partners;
- Amount of funding: up to PLN 200,000 (continuation of support for Innovations approved by the Investment Committee is possible), with a limit of PLN 400,000 per Innovation for the entire project. The budgets proposed in the Submissions will be negotiated.
How to apply?
- Step 1: fill in the Submission form, print, sign and scan it; submit the original to the TTC secretariat;
- Step 2: prepare an Innovation Presentation (pitch deck) in accordance with the recommendations;
- Step 3: send the signed form and presentation in .ppt or .pdf format to:inkubator.rozwoju@uj.edu.pl. In the subject line, write: "S4B - Submission of pre-implementation work ".
Deadlines
- Continuous recruitment will be conducted until 31 October 2026 or until 150% of the allocation value is reached in the budgets of the Submissions received; the funds allocated for financing the Submissions are: PLN 1.1 million (PLN 0.55 million TTC and PLN 0.55 million SPV);
- Submissions will be verified and approved on an ongoing basis. The expected evaluation time (counted from the date of receipt of the Submission) is a maximum of 30 days;
- The results of the Qualification will be published on the project website and the CITTRU website. Persons coming forward with Submissions will also be informed of the results by e-mail.
Evaluation criteria
- Formal evaluation: completeness and correctness of the Submission;
- Substantive evaluation, with a presentation by the applicant (Innovation Broker/SPV President):
- access criteria, including: previous/parallel Submissions/Applications for financial support under the Project, indication of the relevant NSS/KIS, indication of the required TRL level,
- justification of the proposed activities in the context of the intended method of commercialisation,
- justification of the proposed costs,
- presentation of the Innovation by the Innovation Broker/SPV President before the Evaluation Committee.
- Please note! The Investment Committee may invite the person coming forward with the Submission to an interview/presentation of the Innovation before approving the Innovation for funding.
Implementation and settlement
- Implementation takes place in accordance with the approved Submission, and expenditure in accordance with EFSE rules, project rules and internal procedures of the JU/SPV;
- The IP resulting from the implementation of the Submission belongs to JU/SPV.
